Dev  is a Bengali Indian male actor films in Bengali cinema. His original name is Deepak Adhikari.His debut as hero in the film "Agnisapath", which was not able to make him popular. His debut film as "DEV", I Love You (2007) directed by Ravi Kinnagi, was very successful at the box-office. He had completed Computer engineering in Bhartiya Vidyapith, Pune. He was born in 'Mahisha' a small village near Keshpur, Paschim Medinipur District, West Bengal. He spend childhood in Chandrakona in his Mother's house.After having his primary education he returns Mumbai to his parents. His parents and sister still live in Bandra.

After finishing studies, he returned to Mumbai and started out as an observer on the sets of Abbas-Mustan’s Taarzan: The Wonder Car. He also did an acting course at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Academy.His first film was Agnishapath opposite of Rachana banerjee, directed by Prabir nandi. this film was flop on boxoffice. Shree Venkatesh Films was looking for a fresh face for I Love You. He met them and bagged the role of Rahul.
His Fourth film is director Raj Chakraborty directed Challenge in opposite of Subhashree Ganguly. With what is widely regarded as a handsome demeanor and respected dancing skills, Dev will try to prove his mettle in an interesting action-romance genre in Challenge. Towering at above six feet, lightning-feet Dev is the new Tollywood hit-machine.
Dev is also the only actor in Bengali cinema to do an item song. His first item song was from the film 'Chirodini Tumi je Amar' in the song "pante tali". The track as well the video went on to become a massive hit! Dev's new item number is from the film 'Jackpot' directed by Kaushik Ganguly. In this film, he was seen dancing to the remade music track of 'Jibone ki Pabona', a track originally made famous by the presence of iconic Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee..
